Ok, I guess it’s time to make one of these. I’m basically going to use this thread to show where I’ve come from and where I’m going.

I will start off with my first car. 1992 Civic…I know what you will all say but hey, I was 15. I bought the car with 100% my money before I could even drive. That has to count for something. lol (I sold this car to my older brother who proceeded to run it into the ground. That's how I managed to get this photo.)

I owned that for a while till I got bored. I then sold it to my brother to fund the purchase of my Supra. A 1988 turbo targa I paid 4800 for. It had a slight bit of rust but was overall in great condition. Here are some scanned pics from October 2004(before I had a digi cam). The previous owner was a Toyota mechanic and a fellow Supra enthusiast who installed the 89+ bumper.

I had some money left over from selling the Civic so I quickly started on maintenance. The rust had to go so…..

^^^Damn I look young in that pic.

And then as you can see…I needed mouldings. I didn’t want to go with the steel ones since the rust and cost a fortune. So I found a set of 89+ for a great price and installed those.

The car stayed like this for quite a while. I attended the local Toronto Supra meets with my friend Steve and basically enjoyed the car. Here is a pic of our cars.

When we graduated high school we had to have some fun. So…

I then started to think about more power from the car so I had a MHG put on. At the same time I did some minor suspension work in the form of shocks and springs.

I was now much happier that the car was down in the weeds. Next on the hit list was the aging interior. Some new leather pieces, steering wheel and floor mats can make a huge difference. I also added a 10” sub with my custom enclosure to clear the targa. Targa had to come first.

Next was another round of performance mods. So I went to George at Raptor Racing and had a custom 3” cat back made. He also supplied my high flow cat and divorced downpipe. My car was used to prototype the Mk3 downpipe design for him using the front section of his Mk2 DDP.

With only the exhaust, an HKS intake and an MBC @ 10lbs I did this…

While doing all this to the Mk3 I also picked up a Mk2 to play with. The body is shot but it runs well and the interior is mint. It’s a project for later when school is done and I have some time again.

At this point I had moved again. I was happy though as I now had a DD and the Supra could remain inside.

And finally the car that makes all of this possible…the daily beater. My GTP.

nice car! deff has come a long ways. whats the future hold? any big plans?

I have some Probe pistons sitting on a shelf 3 feet from me...so you know where that's going. lol The motor is low compression (was low during the dyno I suspect) so I will be tackling the rebuild myself. I may be sourcing a spare motor to build so I have less down time. I already have the engine stand and engine crane so I might as well.

Also, I have to finish off the rear of my suspension with the rest of the poly bushings. Was only able to get the front done before it went into winter storage.

Basically I'm shooting for 400-450 whp. Boss or JT series turbo, MAFT-Pro, 550's etc. I want to keep the best spool as humanly possible so I might end up with a rather small turbo (at least by Supramania standards).

I want to track the car so I will be doing some Whiteline sway bars and some day a BBK. I have Brembo slotted rotors on a shelf to go on in the spring with the best pads I can find and that will be ok in the mean time. My H&R's will be shitty for the track and will eventually be replaced but they have been great for street driving over the years.

The interior isn't done either. I will eventually be doing some black/grey 2 tone leather seats. A few more gauges to watch the important stuff but nothing radical or tacky. I have some JDM tails being shipped as I type and I've got a Shine lip all picked out too.

Meh...I've got lots of plans but little time/money.

I've read about the Megasquirt. My friend was interested in running it on his Mk2. I prefer the MAFT-Pro because there are many people running it so it makes it easier to get base settings and trouble shoot issues. I can't wait to get it so I can clean up the engine bay some more and make as much power as possible on stock turbo/injectors.

The MBC is set for 10 lbs. This was done before the DDP was installed. Since the DDP was added it usually goes to about 12. However, it doesn't hold this to redline. I think this and the small hot side of the CT-26 contribute to the poor numbers over 4500 rpm. I really need an electronic boost controller so it can hold a constant boost pressure. I will probably go with the boost control option on the MAFT-Pro.

Good progress there. Very clean car, personally i dont like the fron end of a 89+ with the pre89 spoiler but your car looks great overall.

EDIT: I want to get a shine's lip too. But not sure where to look for their products. Where did you looked?
