SAFC problem

bougt a used SAFC.. was wiring it in today. was wondering if someone had a diagram for 87-88 safc install?. i went on apexi's site.. they had the diagram, but i wanted something with a generic illustration? i searched on here only found a hand drawing. also, if the power was hooked up, and the 2 ground wires are hooked up, should the afc turn on with the car? or do all the wires have to be hooked up?

There is a detailed wiring diagram in my sig for +89 but you can match the signal names.

thanks.. now do you konw if the power wire was hooked up and both brown wires are hooked up, shouldnt the AFC at least turn on? i tried this yesterday before i posted and got nothing.

I don't know what 'both brown wires' you're talking about.

Yes, you can get it to power up without being installed:
+12V = Red
Gnd = Black, Brown

I've even done it with a 9v battery on a safr and a neo.

Make sure you have the grounds hooked up the right way...

Also, double check you have the right wires spliced.

I have been wondering:

I already have an AVCR wired in. Can I just add in the wires into where I spliced in the AVCR wiring, or will I need to splice and dice at a different section/length?

i know i have the right wires on there.. and the ground wires are attached to the wiring harness in teh correct order. i htink i got a bad one ahh well ill take care of it
