S366 alternative?

Does anybody know whether the S360 or S362 has the same sort of high-pitched diesel truck whine that the S366 has? I know selecting a turbo based on the sound is a little bit rice but what can I say...

The S366 sounds sick but my horsepower goal here is 400-450, so it might make sense to go a bit smaller... Anybody have a billet-wheel S360/S362? Is it LOUD?

Will prolly sound similar. That's how Borges sound.

I would look more at the sxe 61 or 62mm turbo for that hp.

im running the s362 and its not that loud but its still pulling through maf.

I have a s360 on my 2jz and its pretty noticable but my cousin just finished his build 2jz-gte vvti with an s362 FMW and its significantly louder.

I have an HX35 and it's pretty noticeable...once you actually start making boost, especially the flutter letting off (no bov lol). They're cheaper than dirt too. Look for a 7 blade. Unfortunately they're T3 flanged.

HX40s are a bit bigger.

My buddy has a billet wheel in his S366 and he says the turbo got a LOT quieter once the billet wheel was put in. Seems to be the norm for a billet wheel Borg Warner compared to the cast wheel units. Just food for thought if you decide to go with a billet wheel on your turbo.
