here's some info on con-rods. I can build a feature into the excel thing that I wrote for you guys awhile back to calculate conrod stresses, then if we have a cross section for each of these rods at it's thinnest point, we can get the area and I can include some tensile strengths for the common metals that these things are made of, will give us a pretty good concept of just how far we can push it.

off the top of the head tho, I can tell you right now that RPM is gonna be what tears apart a 7m conrod, not hp.

No complaints about Pauter rods. Worth every penny. :)

Not that I'm running 700hp either. (Yet.) But I do have one of the few stroker motors that actually have run for more than a few moments.... And the rods held up to some serious detonation on the first stroker when the guy at the shop ran the car at high boost, with no fuel pressure regulator hooked up to a vac/pressure source. (IE: No rise in fuel pressure with boost, so it ran very lean, detonated and wiped out a set of bearings, and pin bushings, but not the rods, or the pistons.) It may have twisted the crank, or warped it, so I'd say the Pauter rods in combination with ROSS pistons are pretty dang robust. (Had the crank hard chromed, and machined back into the right tolerance, and it's good as new now it appears.)

I agreed that high RPM will kill the rods faster than anything else. Especially with the stroker's extra 6.5mm of throw.
