This is my first supra that i have owned. Its a 1986.5, one day its just started reving from 1200 rpm to 2000 and back down. I have changed out all vac. lines, head gasket, and TPS. and the car still revs on it own. My next step is to change out my EGR valve. Dose anyone have any other ideas on what could be making the car rev on its own.

Well, it controls your idle speed so there maybe something wrong with it or a bad connection. There are tests for that in the TSRM linked to above.

You might also want to check your water temperature sensor. The car might be stuck in warm-up because of a loose connection or failed sensor. Also, remove and inspect you accordian hose. It can be cracked and you wouldn't see it while it's on the car.

sounds like the Mass-air flow meter going bad. Mine did that just before it died.

I think it is, I hooked a meter up to it and it was way out of range
