rear pinion bearing going

just wondering how hard it is to replace the front and rear pinion bearings in my 89' mkIII supra. Is there any specialty tools i will need and how much technical knowledge dose a person need to do this. i just want to save my self the labor fees that come along with having some one else do it. i was also told by a drifter i should look into getting a trans-axil to throw in it. is this a bad idea? supposedly if i have some one else do it, it will be around the same price as just replacing the bearings. any input will help me out.
