Can anyone tell me the price of a 1989 Supra when it first came out if you were to buy it straight from the Toyota Dealership? How much did the MKIV Supras cost when they first came out? I was just curious because there's some dealership that is selling a MKIII Supra for 50 grand so I wanted to know how much they actually cost brand new on the day they were released.

If anyone wants to take any guesses go ahead but just let me know whether its a guess or a fact. I'm actually guessing MKIII Supras were $80 000 and MKIV Supras were a bit over $100 000. That may seem stupid but I'm just basing it on the price of this Supra at the dealership.

Your estimates are WAY off.

Base sticker prices (US Dollars, unadjusted):

1986.5 Model Year
N/A - $19,660

1987 Model Year
N/A - $20,490
Turbo - $23,595

1988 Model Year
N/A - $21,740
Turbo - $24,210

1989 Model Year
N/A - $22,360
Turbo - $24,700

1990 Model Year
N/A - $22,860
Turbo - $25,200

1991 Model Year
N/A - $24,320
Turbo - $27,790

1992 Model Year
N/A - $26,290
Turbo - $29,900

I've got the MKIV data around here somewhere.... I'll try to dig it up.

I've got the actual data around here somewhere, but I don't have time to find it. The following is ballpark accurate for the MKIV:

The MKIV N/A's ran $37K plus.
The MKIV N/A SE models ran around $31K
The MKIV turbo cars ran in the $55K range.

I bought my 88NA new for $20,500. Options were Targa, leather, LSD, AC. Sticker was around $25,000. If they are selling one at a dealership for $50k it has to be new, like almost no miles.
My brother bought a 93TT, targa, leather, I keep thinking he paid around $39k new. I guess the dealer thinks they are becoming a collector car. I had a guy that owned a Toyota dealership tell me about 6 years ago to hold on to mine and keep it as stock as possible because it was going to be a rare bird and be worth much more than I paid for it. Maybe the dealers had disscused this a few years back and garaged a few for themselves to jack up the value? Or maybe the win on "Pinks" has really jumped the value up.:biglaugh:

And yeahh the Supra at the dealership has only 92 kilometers on it. I actually saw it from another thread somewhere on the General Discussion Forum.

One thing you all have to keep in mind is gsmokez is in canada and the cars were and still are more expensive in canada than the us, but not the first numbers he was quoting. My guess would be about 10 to 12 grand higher than the us numbers.

Wait a tick, you could opt for a non-power drivers seat?
