Hey guys let me start off by telling you about the car, its a 87 turbo with 3' exhaust and down pipe no cat, shimmed wastegate, upgraded boush recirc valve, K&N intake and lower hardpipes. What the car has been doing is when i am in boost and go to change gears as soon as i engage the clutch and the revs drop the car will backfire and a puff of black smoke will come out. Its starting to bother me because i can't figure it out, theres no codes and the car runs fine in every other way. any ideas?

sounds like a vacuum leak. check all hoses, and it might be a good idea to put some zip ties on all them. help me alot!

check for exaust leaks as well. you can do this while the car is cold and jacked up. feel and listen for air. if that dont work i would take off the test pipe and check the gasket for signs of leaking.

Boost is set at 10psi and i checked the time and its set to 10 degrees. I guess i better build a leak tester and start looking lol
