hey guys,

finally got my car running again on the weekend and found that when moving it out of the driveway there seemed to be a whining coming from the gearbox. I have never had any kind of noise come from the box, and the only change is the new gearbox oil I put in a few weeks before.

The car had no been started since putting the oil in so its the first time I have noticed it. I dont believe there are any issues with the box, so what could it be?

I followed the write up in the tech section on the easy way to change r154 gearbox oil through the shift hole.

Any thoughts?

not sure actually mate, I would have to check.

its castrol VMX 80 (was recommended to me) - 75w80

Could new oil just be thin and take a little while to wear in?

If your sitting ontop of the tranny, the fill plug is abouot half way down the left side. The drain plug is waaaay down on the right side. Real easy to see if you got the car up about 3 feet on jack stands
