i have both a 67gtq and a t67 ptrim turbo both with .68 ar housings and i plan on putting it on a built 7m and would like to know which one would be better for my goal of 450-500whp i'd like to know if any one knows what the spool time would be like so any help would be nice

I come from a land down under
Good luck with that then....

I ran an 04z with a .96 turbine that surged like a bitch anything over 10psi, ended up running 2x Turbosmart type3's with 1/3 of each spring cut.

I have a divided .70 hot side T67 with ptrim and i am having no problems. I see 14psi by 3500rpm as well as having no surge with my turbo xs RFL BOV. My set up is on a 2j but they are both 3 liters. I love the turbo cause it has a great power band.

Both are nearly identical in that they are way too big for the goal of 450-500rwhp. :)

I dont see how you figure this? Its a great turbo to hit these numbers on pump gas efficiently with still a decent power band. Its still a very suitable street turbo not a dyno queen turbo if that is what you mean.

I have a 67mm on a 7M with a .69 A/R for the turbine and like IJ says i cant seem to get the surge under controll. Actully i couldnt figure out why i coulent get it under controll untill i just read IJ's post. I start spooling around 3400 and get full boost (20psi) by 4000. It feels amazing on the highway but if you want more city driving its going to be to big. I cant get more then 15psi in second if i roll into it from about 4000RPM. If i launch the car i can get 18 psi in first and 20 in second. Basicly if you line up with something kinda quick at a light, if you do not launch you might as well not race! lol

^ oddd i have no surge prob what so ever and only gear that use less as in not enough load was first gear but i never punch it in first any way when 2nd and 3rd just spin and have to control it by foot tell set it up some more

I have the gts

great turbo i find after 3000 rpm it pulls then 4000 is like fly a millenium falcon in star wars on a small narrow road

Ya but you have to remember that i made 500hp on a 60trim so this feels very laggy in comparison

not eghough timing down low mine was very very tame

when i build the bottom end i got to raise the bar

I think i can shave off about 1000 rpm of lag we figure and push to 650 at max boost ei 27 pounds before my 6.8 hot side becomes a handy cap (plus she is juranle bearing too)

i pushed that number on motor that has had 2 bhgs 1 pushed tell they she un drivable with no thermostat and about 200km on it

but we will see what happens i just think this turbo is pretty nice if you can get it for a good price since there out of date now

67mm crammed into a boss lipp housing with .81 ar ran on stock engine 14psi and surged more than id like with a tial bov on 2.5in ic piping with stock ported manifold.

I was planning on running a second bov on this new setup. what would you recomend? wanted to use an old greddy unit right under the tb, and have the tial a lil further down near the ic... car now has 3in ic piping and q45 ffim. hope to have the motor back in the car and dynoed by april.

what is the most popular setup for dual bov? i love the tial sould, but i need something that reacts a lil quicker.

I figure this by having built and owned many turbo cars. The OP stated goals of 450-500rwhp, attainable with a much smaller turbo providing a much wider power band. IE more "suitable street turbo" and less "dyno queen turbo" than a 67mm. IE less lag, more fun.
