alright, i'm trying to price out what I will need for my turbo project for the summer. i'm looking into the pt-61 turbo from Precision Turbo. what turbine a/r would be good on a 7mgte? .58 .68 .81 or .96 <-those are the choices. i'm thinking the .68 a/r would be best for good spool and decent power. i'm more worried about spooling quicker than massive power here. here are all the specs i have:

Compressor Wheel Dia.: 61mm
Compressor Wheel Inducer: 2.416"
Compressor Wheel Exducer: 3.227"
Compressor Wheel Trim: 56
Compressor Inlet/Outlet Size: 3" / 2"
CHRA Bearing System: 360 Race
Turbine A/R Ratio: Tan .58 .68 .81 or .96
Turbine Wheel Style: T04
Turbine Wheel Inducer: 2.795"
Turbine Wheel Exducer: 2.437"
Turbine Wheel Trim: 76

Also, if there is a good place to purchase this... chime right in.

the pt61 comes in a few flavors and can pretty much be built to whatever you are looking for. i am a big fan of the .68 a/r. can make great power and the spool is fairly quick too. if you want ultra fast spool you can get the T350 turbine and .58 a/r. max power will be lower of course. "quick spool and not massive power" doesnt help much. what one person thinks is quick spool another thinks is laggy. and on the flip side what one person thinks is massive power another thinks is moderate. a little more specific would help decide which configuration would be best for you.

best place to buy? ME! ;)

what i meant by that was, if i had to choose between being a litle laggier, but getting a couple more hp, i'd want the quicker spool. so .68 sounds about right, that's what i was thinking before this thread anyway.

Compressor Wheel Dia.: 61mm
Compressor Wheel Inducer: 2.416"
Compressor Wheel Exducer: 3.227"
Compressor Wheel Trim: 56
Compressor Inlet/Outlet Size: 3" / 2"

Turbine A/R Ratio: .68

Turbine Wheel Inducer: 2.795"
Turbine Wheel Exducer: 2.437"
Turbine Wheel Trim: 76

Are you being serious that i could get one through you? if so PM me a price for this setup^ and any other options available, oil lines, polished housing, etc...

If I had 9:1 compression on a 2JZ-GE engine, what kind of specs would a T61 turbo need to reach full boost by no later than 3200rpm? Would dual ball bearing help decrease spool time on a T61 type of turbo?

you could get a .58 a/r and t350 turbine wheel w/ ball bearing option. that would spool wicked fast and still make 450rw+

I don't want to go smaller than .68 exhaust housing :naughty: . With that in mind, would a t350 turbine wheel, dual ball bearing option, 4in compressor inlet & 4in downpipe help me reach full boost by no later than 3200rpms on pump gas?

Why wouldn't you want to go smaller than a .68 A/R housing? If you want quick spool, get the .58. It won't sacrifice that much power. I have the SP59GT and I wish I went with the .58 instead of the .68.

.58 exhaust housing is too small for that turbo and will choke it imho..I want to minimize the backpressure and .68 is the smallest I'm willing to go. With that said, would my above mentioned mods help me reach full boost no later than 3200rpm with a t61 turbo?

whoops i missed your post, sorry i didnt respond.

tuning is gonna make a difference as well as other mods of course. but even still 3200 w/ that setup isnt gonna happen imo. i think it would be more in the range of 3700. you might be able to get full boost a little sooner than that, but i doubt 3200.
