Oh ok gotcha. You will notice that is a popular up grade for our cars. There is a few write ups on here if you just search alittle.

On a nother note, My family and I would like to thank you and all fellow service men and women for what you are doing out there.

How much bigger will the turbo be?

stock injectors and fuel pump max out around 330hp. Stock is only 230hp.

If you never driven a 400rwhp car... i suggest you start with 550 and the lex afm. This is the most inexpensive route to go with. Otheriwse you have to invest in piggy backs or standalones which will quickly quadruple the price tag.

It depends on the condition of the AFM. Guys help me here, if I'm not mistaken you can use your current AFM electronics and just swap out the housing. I remember reading something about doing that but not 100% sure on it.

The housing is what you are interested in, look in the for sale section, they're pretty cheap. You can use your electronics or the Lexus' electronics depending on what part number is on it.

The Lexus part number that works is one more than the Toyota's AFM part number.

I'm in the process of doing this upgrade. Here is what you're looking at:

550cc Injectos ~350-400
Lex AFM ~75-100 (used)
AFPR ~120
Wideband ~175
Fuel Pump ~50-75

Prices will vary depending on what brands you get, and who you're supplier is....

Question: are you saying with this set up, he does not need a piggy back or a A.P.F.R.? From reading here, most everyone recomends a A.P.F.R. and possible tweeking of the air screw in the Lexus A.F.M. I think possibly you forgot to mention that, I could be wrong.

With lex afm and 550's you don't need a piggyback. If you stick a walbro pump in the mix, you will need an AFPR. Well, you don't need it but you will at least have to drill out the j tube and it is recommended.

Whtma71, that's good answer. what's the cut off point for as far as boost on this set up? Can you go 18ish?

What would happen if you just bypass the J-tube with the stock regulator?

Nothing. You only need to drill/ bypass the j-tube if you get a bigger fuel pump. The tiny hole acts as a back up fpr just in case the fpr goes bad.

NO> You only drill/bypass if you get a bigger fuel pump.
