I have 87 7mge in my celica. The car takes off just fine but when I hit 4000 RPM the car pulls hard. Is this normal for this motor? or is there something wrong.

Thanks

Ryan

What do you mean by pulls hard???

I guess pulls hard says it all..., let off the throttle if you can't control her.

I mean to be honest "pulls hard" is what most of us here want.

The information about ACIS is in the N/A Upgrade FAQ, but basically if it's not working right you'll feel a "kick" at 3800+ RPM, or it'll "drop off" at 3800+ RPM (depends on which way it's not working). You should never feel a change in anything. It should be smooth.

In support of the other posts mentioned above.

The ACIS valve is spring loaded in the open position. SO if it fails it is more likely to fail and remain open. Open is for high rpm operation.

I'm guessing its a 77 celica, per his user ID.

If it is, do you mind if I pick you brains a bit for my own 7m swap into a 77 celica?

Right now I'm putting coil-overs on. I'll get more pics as soon as I'm done.
