Yeah, I now own 2 dead saabs and a dead Supra haha. :: angry ::

The supra hasn't changed one bit since the last pictures of it. It probably won't until I get the engine in. Hoping to have it in soon-ish. I know it will take awhile though As I don't make a whole lot of money and it goes out pretty quickly.

Worst thing I ever did = getting a car payment. Even though it is really small, couple that with full coverage and the That is quite a bit of money That could be spent elsewhere. Live and Learn. :3d_frown:

I know the LED's are installed wrong. Going to fix soon. Anyone know if Clear High Brightness Blue LED's would hurt the Board any? I have 300 sitting in a bag in my drawer. From my knowledge, As long as the LED's are not being used for anything other than just a status light, I should be fine. Just want to make sure before I install them. I would sand the lenses down to defuse the light.

I will be building the N/A to go back in so I have a vehicle. I will then take my time and build a 7mgte the right way. Cleaned, painted, and fully forged. Gives me time to get everything for the megasquirt and learn everything I can about it.

Nice to see anotherone pick MS3 :)
I'm very pleased with mine.

About the MAP sensor, if you're not going to boost that much, then hold of on the mapdaddy til you need it. This is due to accuracy.

Coils. I would recommend 1zz-fe coils. They fit and will get you a cleaner engine bay. These are "smart" coils so there is no need for an igniter. All you need is to run a wire for the MS3X and then 12V and ground.

Just made a deal and will be picking up a running 7m this weekend.

It is getting pulled from this:
p1918623_1.jpg

also ordered a brake master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder.

Going to try and pull the calipers off to sand and paint them.

edit: Looks like I will be picking up a 7mgte with a blown head gasket tomorrow. Then next week he will be bringing the running ge home and I will pick it up either friday or saturday. Just need to get it changed from rear sump to front sump and will try and slap in the running 7m next weekend. it has a rebuilt head, all new gaskets and seals and new plug wires/dist. cap/dist/ rotor.

So you're getting the ge and the gte?
Good news. it really seemed like rebuilding that original grenaded ge motor would have been a futile move.
Getting it changed from rear sump to front sump? I thought it would be the other way around.

Yes. Hopefully the ge will drop right in with little fighting. Should give me time to rebuild my dd so I can get the supra squared away.

And yes, I was mistaken on the front/rear sump.

Well the gte is in pretty bad shape. I hope everything turns out okay after it gets machined. Was in worst shape than I expected. :: angry ::

Just looking at that GTE hurts... that block has issues.. lol. I wouldn't touch it. Not sure how much the machining would be, but Im thinking of what would be sitting inside the water jackets/oil journals and how thinned those cylinder walls would be now. That looks like it was a boat anchor at one point.

I'll get it stripped apart and take a good look at it. I'll take it down and see what the machine shop says as well. If it doesn't pass, i'll suck it up and use it as a table or something

Just a small update. Got my clutch slave cylinder in the mail yesterday. I expect the brake master cylinder to be coming today. I can then sand and paint those along with other misc. parts. MS3x board and wiring harness should be here Friday, if not Saturday. The guy I bought the running ge from pulled the engine yesterday and will be bringing it Friday. Found out today that he actually started his 2jz swap because the alternator had died. So will be reusing my old alternator.

Good update I think haha

Edit: 3/13/13 - Ordered Toyota Red Coolant, should be here in a few days. Also ordered a keyless entry. Not sure If I am going to put it in the supra or the car my brother is taking when he gets his license. Still up in the air. I also ordered a ton of SMD LEDs to start on some Lighting Projects, I hope shipping is pretty fast.

Got quite a bit of work done yesterday(I think). Got my brake booster cleaned up and painted(bright gay blue so I change it soon) got the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder changed. Cleaned up and painted the rust from the leaking masters. Also cleaned and painted some other rusted areas. Plastidipped one fender and ran out of white plastidip. Going to get more for the other panels. Got the motor mounts and oil pickup/oil pan swapped over. The new engine needs the new water pump installed and the wiring harness thrown on. The car needs a bit more engine bay work, mainly cleaning and painting. Then dash can go in as well as some interior pieces. Got some picture to post later. I am hoping I can get it going this week, if the weather permits.

After cleaning inside pan. Was black, nasty, and full of chewed up bearing. Pretty clean now.

Almost ready. Just need to fit the new water pump and the harness. Then its on to cleaning up the trans and a few touch-up jobs in the engine bay and we are good to go.

Here she is, sad and waiting. The body needs a lot of attention, for right now: Plasti-Dip

64114_10151541221491011_1685021128_n.jpg

Just need to get more Plasti-Dip to finish off the other panels.

There were pictures showing the rust cleaned up and painted flat silver to try and match the current engine bay color. I like the color a lot and Think I will be using it a lot in the final turbo build.

Just a note regarding the oil pan. (someone can chime in) You need to soak it with a good chemical bath... having a brain fart moment so can't remember what to recommend.. lol.
You have to make sure that hidden area is clean under the metal plate inside the pan. It collects a lot of crap down there that you cant see, but if you put your finger in there and feel, it should be perfectly clean to start.

pointing it out just in case you overlooked it.
