Ditto, back in 1999 I did 33x 1000 mile trips and that was my only prep

If you don't trust your car driving it in long trips then you should not be driving it in short trips. Car breaks down regardless so just be prepared to deal with it.

Truth be told man, those L28's and their crazy same-side intake/exhaust manifolds scared me enough to vow never to work on them.
