power steering problem

power steering doesnt work all the time it seems the faster i go the more it turns on

like if im doing 20mph i have to floor it then the power steering will go on

but if im doing 50 and i touch the gas it goes on can anyone think whats wrong?

if anyonesteals my car they would kill themselves driving it

I think it's not working at all.

it IS normal for steering to get easier as speed picks up. How does it work when you're stopped?

no it doesnt work when im stopped

u must of read it wrong it kicks on halfway around a turn it just kicks on and the steering goes from really hard to really easy like bam no hesition

Pump making any noise? bubbles in the resovoir? if the fluid in the system gets low enough the pump will fry and have to be changed. Belt could be slipping but that can usually be heard by a squeeling sound. Also the rack might be going but usually when that starts the steering feels sloppy.
