I didn't use it in my oil when I recently did it, because I was warned that its ok in the intake tract and fuel tank but if you put it in the oil it'll cause blow by, especially in older vehicles.

Here is something that actually works... Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner, although its best if you can pull the head off and add some elbow grease to the equation.

Also attached are two photos to show you that it in fact does do the job, rather than just fogging the neighborhood with oil smoke.

Composition of Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner

Xylene 30-60 %
Benzine 5-10 %
Mineral Spirits 10-30 %
Isopropyl 10-30 %
Naptha 5-10 %

It has all the components of Seafoam + Xylene and Benzine

So it must be the Xylene and Benzine that make it sooo much better, right?

Xylene is found in gasoline and can cause liver damage with exposure to high levels (sniffing Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner)

Benzine is also known as ether or starting fluid. It can cause cancer with exposure to high levels(sniffing Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner)

It may work better than seafoam, but at what cost?

Believe it or not, in the 19th and early-20th centuries, benzene was used as an after-shave lotion. It is very toxic. Use an NIOSH approved OV multi-gas respirator.
