not a mk3 but a mk2

rear seats are useless so I pulled them and made a flush mount box

:D I wanted it to be lower, so I could fit the targa. But we didn't keep the capacitors in mind....So I have to think out another way to put it in there...

15l7.
Yes I'm going to fit the targa someway...but not the stock way ofcourse :D (If I don't lose the capacitors...to somewhere other place,
the targa holders would mount up half easily with little modifications to the box).

i'm thinking of fitting a 12 between the rear seats but still being able to put the targa in the rear has anybody seen or done it done before. i mean i have to use a thin sub but i want to use the hatch still and the back seats if i need to. i got something drawn up and in the works but i want some other ideas as a fall back.

how much power does that 15l7 take? i know they can handle alot but whats the peak on one of those?

The S15L7 is WAYYY more than you would ever need a hatch! How much are you planning on pushing? What are your goals for your sound system?

i already got a poineer 12 and a sony 600 watt 4 channel amp. i'm going to use 2 channels for the rear speakers and the other 2 bridged for the sub. i don't want anything fancy or nothing like that right now i just want a lil something something. i was just wondering bout the 15l7 for the future. i plan on getting a s10 and making it up for sound comps. that all. but like i said i want to keep my mk3 functional so i still want the rear seats and the trunk/stock targa brackets for right now.

The s15 is a BEAST! With the right amp your roof, mirrors, eyes, chest..etc WILL move with every beat. I know this from personal experience.

oh i know the feeling. i had a 95 s10 extended cab with 2 audiobahn 12's in it and 2 volfanhagn amps putting 2000 watts 2 each and a guy with a 12l7 straight up blew me out of the water. so ever since then i was wondering but i forgot bout them cause i didn't need anything that big after i lost my truck. so i'm gonna stay small for right now. i just want something that sounds good. you know what i mean?

see i got this idea but i can't lock the back seats in place and if i do lock them i can't fit the targa and i don't want to cut in to it anymore so that's why i'll looking for ideas. i mean as it is i can't use the sub with the back seat up because it sounds really bad. thats fine its a sacrafice i have to make but how does a floor mounted sub sound with the targa in the hatch? that is where my thinking is going right now. on top of that, as you can see i have a lot of cleaning up to do. if i put this box in i'm going to have to carpet it in or 'glass it in. that is my other decision. i mean both can look really good but then again i seen either one look horrible. so i'm split more ways than i want to be on this box.

Kicker KX (?) 1200.1 mono d-class amp.
The sub's 2000w max, dual 4 ohm voice coil wired @ 2 ohms (though as I understand the amp wants to have 1 ohm.... but that's what I got in the set when visiting the US :)(Thanks to user toyo4life), so should be alright?).
The box (120 litres+port IIRC) and the port were done like suggested in the manual, but isn't precise ofcourse (that's the problem...), but according to bass tests, should be configured to around 45hz....that's maybe a bit too high.
