This is my project that I have been working on since the beginning of August. It's taken me a little longer than I had planned, but I'm reaching the end of the under the hood portion and hope to have it driving soon.

Mod list by completion:
-Aristo 2JZ-GTE with MAP ECU and 7M oil pressure sender to retain factory oil guage functionality
-MKIV 550cc injectors
-Custom wired MKIII resisitor pack for low impedence MKIV injectors
-Walbro fuel pump
-T67 turbocharger with .84 A/R hotside
-Ebay SS T4 manifold
-50mm HKS replica wastegate (11psi spring)
-Full 3" v-band downpipe => greddy sport exhaust (all I know is it sounded amazing on a 1.5JZ)
-Upgraded 1JZ intercooler setup with full hardpipes
-Super Sequential BOV
-Manual conversion to an R154 transmission, stock driveshaft for now
-AEM guage type boost controller and wideband o2
-APEX'i SAFC-II
-Intrax lowering springs (Tokico TEMS compatible shocks to come)

Visual mods to come:
-Greddy style front bumper (retaining factor foglights)
-JDM power folding mirrors (maybe)
-Fresh pearl white paint with color matched moldings
-Clear or smoked turn signals (can't decide!)
-5zigen FN0R1-C Bronze Wheels

I have an existing buildup thread on Supraforums, but I wanted to share my project with this group too.

Here's the link to my other thread in case you want see what's happened up until now: http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=382292

Also, here's a teaser vid I put together:

I promise the next one will be more than a slideshow! :p

Anyways, here's a few pics of the car as it sits.

How muchdid you pay for everything? Where did you get your engine? How many miles, any compression results? What type of mounting brackets are those?
You might want to invest in a better wastegate than a replica HK$ if you are running a larger single like that- perhaps get a genuine Tial? They are not terribly expensive and you never know how a replica wastegate/spring setup will perform. Inaccurate A/F ratios with a big turbo can frustrate you with strange readings or blow up that new engine really fast.

2JZ-GTE $2,400.00
R154, bellhousing, clutch $1,000.00
7M oil pressure sender $42.00
MKIV P/S high-pressure hose $264.00
MKIV 550cc injectors and rail $150.00
Walbro fuel pump $112.00
T67 turbo, 4" in, 2.5" out, .81 A/R, 3" v-band $510.00
Ebay SS T4 manifold $170.00
50mm HKS replica wastegate $70.00
SS WG dump pipe $25.00
FMIC $235.00
IC piping $100.00
Intake piping $50.00
Filter $50.00
Full exhaust $1,000.00

Total = $6,178.00

A few of those are guestimated costs as I haven't bought everything yet, but that's pretty close to where I'm at... Putting it all on paper makes me sad. :(

I got the engine from venus (www.venus-auto.com) The mileage is estimated at 40K kilometers, compression was satisfactory. I haven't tested it myself or seen the results. The mount brackets are JZA70 brackets. They were blue when I got them. :p

It's been nearly a month since I touched the car last due to weather, construction work in my driveway (building another 2 car garage/workshop :D), waiting for parts, and other setbacks, but I just got off the phone with Champion Toyota, and the last parts needed to get my car running will be here by the end of the week. At this point in time, all I need is my IC and piping and to find a way to hook up my vacuum booster line. I'm thinking I'll just remove the PCV valve line and run my booster off the 1/4" nipple coming off the manifold there since I'll be going over to a catch can setup. It's getting close!

Finally cracking the hood open again after letting it sit far too long!
p461509_1.jpg

Hood's unbolted, and the engine is ready to be lifted out, but I'm still waiting for my help to show up.
p461509_2.jpg

The engine's out and the auto trans has been removed.

Goodbye automatic transmission!

Upper manifold and wiring harness removed.

My pile of parts... I should probably be more organized.

I can't wait for the new garage to be done!
p461509_10.jpg

I would be installing the new transmission tomorrow, but I forgot to get flywheel bolts. lol :( I'll be ordering those from Toyota on Wednesday (%25 off night!) and will have them by Friday. Until then I'll be working on my turbo oil lines and installing my MKIV 550cc injectors.

My wiring harness is currently with my friend who is turning it into a plug and play deal. I'll hopefully have that back by the end of next week and maybe have myself a start-up ceremony next weekend. :D

All the 7M buildup threads make me wish I had stayed 7M. I might have spent the same amount of time and money in the end since my power goals would still be the same, but it might have been running by now too. lol I think it's all about making a plan and sticking to it because I love my MKIII, I love the 2JZ engine, and I know I will love complete package once it's running again. It's just too easy to doubt what you're doing when it's not finished yet and you're asking yourself if you made the right decisions. This 2JZ swap is one project of I'm sure many more to come, and once this car is all dialed in and making the power I want, I think I will probably pick up another MKIII and build the 7M. :D I want something similar to Duanes old setup. Aftermarket turbo or upgraded CT, stock head, and fresh rebuilt bottom end with forged pistons and good bearings. (I still have a disassembled 7M in my garage lol) My goal for that one would simply be to get near the 500hp mark while keeping it smog friendly.

MKIV 550cc injectors installed.

Oil feed and return lines installed at last!

Rear turbo oil feed plugged. It's a high-grade bolt and a compression washer. I imagine that it should seal as well as the factory banjo bolt.
p461923_7.jpg

My lovely R154. I need a short shifter! lol
p461923_8.jpg

Now I go back to playing the waiting game for my flywheel bolts and wiring harness. :(

And the poor Supra sits...
