Get some current pics up as well. Almost everything looks good. But, I wouldn't blame the slipping on the clutch. You have too much for a W58 tranny to handle. Get a R-154 as soon as you can. Also, there is no 4.5 gearing in the stock Supra diff, unless it's different across the pond from us.

been building the thread :) still updating it now..

Currently i am about to remove the W58, im running a 225mm flywheel and clutch, it is too much for the trans to handle yes... im saving/searching for a R154 and a new clutch.

Speaking to a clutch builder here in Australia who "apparently" used to build the clutch's for the A70 race cars back in the day he said the 225mm clutchs are the same as in the tarago.. apparently the clamping load isnt increased much by exedy and as a result they wont hold, on the dyno its fine (dyna pac) but trying to push a 1500kg car is a diffrent story. It was making about 250-260rwkw @ 12psi and it JUST holds that.

i said 4.3-4.5 need to work it out but i struggle to get over 200km/h

cars still in the build process :)

I didn't pay a great deal for the car..$2500AUD actually, bought it off a guy who was heading to the states and had to get rid of it...
it was the perfect starting point, Dead straight body - absolutely no rust and targa top and a 89+

i unfortunately got the car after it was neglected its a hell of alot better than when i got it but still has along way to come to be a nice car....

I'm aiming for 500rwhp, only 90 away so far :)

I am to run 11s is street trim, i've got a bit of work to do first.

4.56:1 was stock for the GA70's.

cheers, still work in progress.
It's all back in one piece now, planning to completely redo the intercooler piping, fit my FFIM and change gearboxes

soon as i get my air compressor back im going to test for boost leaks in the current intercooler system, i'm betting ill find a big leak...

I've had to dial the boost down a bit to prevent the clutch and gearbox from grenading for now, still should be making good power...

Cheers, it came out nice i think. it needs to be redone...

Yeha i've still got the entire interior sitting in a storage shed, i used a vinal dye for most of the roof sections as i didnt get a targa top blue interior, i decided to get creative came out awesome! i'm a fan of dark roof lining, i figure the top half isnt touched often so the vinal dye shouldn't wear off its hard to get photo's

Still got all the blue panels spare anyway.

was speaking to IJ about coil replacements, i'd love to do a 6 coil install on the supra. the Chev coils look good with inbuilt igniters but id like something that goes onto the spark plug like the 1jz coils.

The last thing i need to fix up for my haltech install is the idle valve, when i've got a better gearbox & clutch i might hook up antilag for track use, it can also function as a 2step. not sure what ill use yet.

Still a fair bit of work left to do....

the shocks are good, i will admit they could be a bit harder under the "sport/normal driving" but i think it has a bit to do with springs, when they firm up the dampening rate is good, makes suprise speed humps alot easier to deal with and speed humps in general, i cant compare them against much, i had shagged OEM tems shocks, but i did use bstillens for a bit and i like the tems much better.

I'm glad u started a build thread. Isaw your post in the t61 thread, so I was interested to see what else you had going on. The blue interior looks nice, its my second favorite choice for an interior, my first being the shadow grey. Anyway, good luck with the r154 swap.

Cheers! yeah shadow grey in Australia is next to impossible to find, at first i didn't like blue all that much but i love it now especially with the two tone.

found 2 major boost leaks! on the factory ecu i had issues boosting above 9psi on a stock ct26, and 4-5 psi on the T61,

I got off my ass and made a boost leak detector using a few PVC caps, a few fittings a pressure regulator and a air compressor, added 5psi into the pipes and found 2 BIG leaks.. was seeing as high as 3psi drop @ 8psi (so really 5psi at throttle 8psi at turbo)

Dosn't affect AFR's at all on my Haltech but does affect spool.

removed the spare wheel, jack and some other heavy items in the boot, also keeping fuel level at 1/3 full, with the reduced weight the clutch holds most of the time. @ 15psi
Since fixing boost issues the turbo comes onto boost quicker and therefore there is less torque shock also.

I'm still replacing the gearbox and clutch but that's not for a few weeks/months and i still want to drive it until then.

I get wheelspin at the top of first, most if not all of 2nd and into third.

new power goal,

450rwhp.... then I'm done chasing power. its more power than alot of street cars.
after that it starts getting a lot more expensive, Time to start prettying it up.

Drove the car in the wet, its slow as any hint of boost and all traction goes out the window :p

I'll send it down the quarter soon once i get a new gearbox and clutch, as this car isn't daily driven i'm considering a aggressive single plate with a R154 we'll see yet, depends if a 2nd hand twin plate comes up for sale for the right price.

Whilst i wait for more funds to do the gearbox properly i decided to change my exhaust.

Currently i have a less than legal setup, 1 muffler all straight through with no cat. its loud (the wrong kind of) and smelly at times.

Ill be fitting a 3" cat and another muffler, its going to be loud on boost no matter what i do.. its the off boost stuff that pisses me off.

yes there was, most are wide body from what i can tell.
See this photo, Yellow is wide body, white is narrow body.

IJ. If noise = speed then yes, should be fixed soon enough :D

Still saving for a R154 and a clutch that will hold, been doing some idle tuning and perfecting cold starts.
