my girlfriend did an oil change on her 94 Saturn station wagon. Long story short she ended up overfilling by maybe 2.5 quarts on a maybe 5 quart system. I would expect problems from this but not the ones I'm seeing. The coolant in the overflow tank is frothing and there is white smoke out of the tailpipe but the smoke doesn't smell sweet... Today I went to try and move it to a better spot and now the transmission wont engage (auto). None of these problems were there before and i cant see any oil leaking. Its dark now but will test the overflow tank for exhaust tomorrow. I dont understand how the oil could cause the hg to blow coolant to cylinder and keep the tranny from engaging a gear. Any idea on what broke?
