What exactly does this do and if the spring and/or valve are worn, would if affect oil pressure?
Reason being is that at hot idle, after a restart the oil pressure gauge takes a few seconds to respond and I can hear sounds of an engine on low oil pressure. Does this releif valve have anything to do with it?
The oil pump is brand new on a fresh rebuild.
