Okay I am looking to get a after market turbo manifold to mount slightly bigger twins, the only one I have found is the OBX Twin, it says it supports two TD06-20's, does anyone know how well these mount up in a MK3 chassis with a 1jz? will I have to beat up the engine bay to get them in there? Also what other turbo's would fit on this manifold?

Two 20G's is enough for about 850hp. Spool on a 1JZ is going to be slower than cousin ned and cousin jenny's kid.

I'd stick to something in the TD05 turbine family if you really want to use that manifold. Twin TD05H-14B turbos from a m/t 1G eclipse (500-550hp) or a pair of TD05H-16G would be great (600-700hp), but still laggy compared to a single.

Take off the stock twins and have them upgraded. Get a larger compressor wheel and turbine thrown on them. Couple them with an aftermarket y pip and full exhaust and you will easily make the power you want for hella cheap and spool just as quick as a larger single.

My concern is that I wanted to do make that without beating my firewall in to make room and based on the way it looks, I don't think I can put bigger turbos' on a 1JZ in a MKIII without doing so, but I might just be a noob....

All depends on positioning of the turbos. Hell, for that matter, get a single TD06-20g, have someone fabricate you a manifold and some pipes. Should be able to make a pretty healthy 400-500hp pretty easily.

Sheesh... TWO TD06's? That's just nuts.

If you want top end don't bother with stok tiwns. Upgrading the compressor wheel won't do squat for top end.

Twin gt28r would be a nice setup if they fit. Could always use assorted to make them fit.

Most people won't bother with twin setups as there not as efficient. And if they do eventually they will just go single because of the headaches dealing with twins.

$2300 a piece... I'd suggest shopping around sir. Unless that comes with your manifolds, fuel system, and every nut, bolt, and gasket needed to do the conversion, you'd be out of your mind to pay that much for a TD06. Kinda old technology at this point... That would be like paying $1500 for a CT26.

Find a small precision turbo that will bolt on or make a adapter plate. Cheaper, faster spool and better performing by far. Esp with a billet wheel and ball bearing.

Garrett doesn't make the TD06... Mitsubishi makes them. Any turbo that is a "TD0*" is a mitsubishi design.

I see why they're so expensive though, this manifold uses the 3 bolt turbine flanges like the 3000GT's use. The only cheap option for those turbos is used stock ones from a 3000GT VR4. A pair of upgrade turbos for that car go for $2300 a pair. Too much $$$ for the sake of keeping twins.

All the turbos I was talking about are the more common 4 bolt turbine flange, and use a tangential turbine housing rather than an on-center design like the 3-bolt turbos do. Better design, but you'd have to weld new flanges on the manifold. That's cheap though, and you could use a nice pair of TD05H-14B turbos that would cost you about $100 each for mint used ones.... or even better, a set of used 2G eclipse T-25 turbos. Same mitsu 4-bolt flange, but a smaller turbo that spools even faster and would support 450hp in a pair. Plus, T-25's are so unloved by DSM guys they practically give them away. I once bought one for $50 to turbo my lawnmower.

haha.... it also had nitrous. This was before I had a drivers license.

You live somewhere where they race riding mowers (or barstools, power wheels, etc), don't you? :p
