i have 89 turbo and i am hearing a growling noise when i accelerate threw the gears. as i go in to the next gear the noise gets louder but when i let of the gas the noise goes away. it sounds like if comeing from rear end but not sure. if ya guys could help me out here let me know what ya think it is

Check your tranny gear oil,then the LSD oil,any strange vibration? MIght be the carrier bearing for the driveshaft.

Buy yourself a mechanics stethoscope (most parts stores, Sears, tool trucks). Jack up the back end so both wheels are up. Use jackstands for safety. Have a friend help. Use stetho to listen to various components while in gear.

the lsd fluid is ok and i just changed the bearing and uv joints last week but the noise sounds like it comeing from rear end not the tranny
