I have just recently acquired a 1991 Supra 7mgte from my mom who bought it new. She had the infamous BHG in 2006. She took it to Toyota and they fixed it. My question is has Toyota adapted the 70-75 torque for these motors or should I look into a re torque?

No they didn't adopt the later torque, and no a retorque usually isn't a good idea. Retorque also won't stop a leak on a factory style gasket.

Best bet is to save up for a metal head gasket install.

Thanks for the response . I cant believe they haven't addressed the issue yet. I have read a lot of info on multiple sites about the re torque and it seems to work. If not I'm pulling apart and out to be machined for a mhg anyway. Might as well try!

removing the head for the first time is a large undertaking, if you work or go to school be prepared to spend most of your weekends on the motor for the nest couple weeks. this is coming from some one with limited mechanical experience who has just removed his head.
