So you can't look at the electrical wiring diagram and see what it needs? If you can't, maybe you should pay somebody that does.

The big wired on the starter should always have power. The smaller one is the switched power.

You need the diagram for your year car. Although I doubt there is a change. Maybe in color of a wire or something.

As for your description, the wire from the relay touches the starter, it starts. That is supposed to happen. The problem is, from the diagram, which wire are you touching to the starter? Before the starter relay is the clutch start switch. After is the neutral safety switch, if you have an automatic.

You could have a ignition switch that is shorted. The car could be wired wrong. Do you have power on the two black wires at the relay at all times?

yes i can read it and my dad was helpin me with the wiring and power goes to it as soon as it touches the battery . ..but like i said . .when the wire that goes to the positive terminal touches the terminal it starts to crank over without me turning a key or anything and not sure how to go about making that stop

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
The wiring for that mod (as dumb as it is) is stone simple. I suggest you go over it again paying particular attention to the configuration of the relay terminals. If you're using a typical Bosch style relay the numbers on it are explained here:

You don't need 5 wires. You should only have power to the relay when the clutch switch is closed, and the ignition switch is in the crank position. Again, do you have power all the time to the relay? :edit: you don't need 5 wires to run a 4 wire relay.

If you are hooking up your main battery cable, and the car cranks, you are wired wrong, or mulitple short switches.

So is the original relay the problem?
