Ok, the supra I bought has all the proper racing equipment installed including the racing fans. Well the way the owner wired the fans was to turn on when the ignition comes on, BUT the wire he used for power happened to be the black/red EFI wire so when it felt like having a power surge it killed the fuse causing the car not to start and waisted time of diagnosing the problem. So now I am looking to see if anyone knows where I can wire the fans up to come on with ignition that wont kill the car if it shorts out. Please help... THanks

OK...on an '89 car, there is a fuse holder w/ no fuse between the 15A ECU-IG and 7.5 A IGN fuse on the bottom row of the fuse block. The top connector on this blank slot is hot with the Ign on. I use this for the Ign source for my fan controller...if you don't have a controller, use this to actuate a relay that connects the fans directly to the battery. Put an inline fuse (usually 30A) between the battery and the main power wire going to the relay.

No wonder the fuse was blowing...use a Bosch 30 Amp relay ;)

A better solution is to use a fan controller...Spal makes a good one...FAL sells a variable speed one too.
