Need Help With Check Engine Light

Aryte guys so I just got the car and basically I just turned the key to ON, car wasn't started, and the check engine light stays on. I just wanted to know if that was normal or not.Does it come on if the battery is low because my battery light is glowing too. All help is appreciated.

Check engine light is normal with key on, engine off. It should go away as soon as you start the car.

As mentioned, it's normal. I have always thought that it comes on then to prove that the lamp isn't burned out, same with the ABS.

The battery light comes on, because the alternator isn't charging it.

Thats the video I took when I found out that I had the engine light. So are you saying that the battery light is also normal?

Yup, completely normal. The Battery light goes off as soon as more than 12v is applied, check engine light turns off as soon as the engine starts turning.
