Hi there. I picked up a 1987 Supra Turbo last weekend. Rebuilt JDM 7MGTE, lots of mods/upgrades. It needs a little TLC, but it has lots of potential, a great interior, and only 88,xxx on the body.

Truth-be-told, though, I feel like I have gotten in over my head. I am not the most car-savvy guy, and I don't really know what I have got. About 15 years ago, I owned an '89 Turbo that I absolutely loved. The car was near-perfect and all original. My ex-wife wrecked it, and that was the end of it. I have wanted another Supra ever since, but life/finances/circumstances always seemed to work against me when it came time to get a new car.

Things finally worked out so that I could start looking at some Supras. However, I ended up in a position that I had to pull the trigger on something sooner than I had hoped out of necessity. Short-story-long, I found a guy down in FL who happened to be travelling up my way and was willing to tow his Supra along for me to check out. I am a nice guy, so even though I knew that it probably wasn't the best option for me personally, it was a nice looking MKIII with the right price tag and he had gone to all that trouble...

I am a single-father, and I want this to be a daily driver as well as a fun car - much like my old one. I really just want to find someone knowledgeable to chat with or perhaps take a look at what I have got and give me some advice.

I would like to apologize if this is inappropriate for the forum. I have learned a great deal "lurking" in here over the past couple of weeks. I have also learned just how much I don't know. Because of the vast amount of knowledge/information that is available here, I am really embarrassed that I am resorting to this. I am very shy, and it is hard to do even in this somewhat anonymous format. But because of that very knowledge here, I am also hoping that someone understanding might read this. Worth taking a chance, anyway...

Thanks for taking the time to read. Take care...

Well welcome to the community. I live in Gainesville and am a certified master tech and certified supra addict I am also certified as a exhaust specialist and a advanced engine performance specialist. I own two right now and am "borrowing" one from a guy overseas. If you ever need any help there are quite a few of us around that are willing to help. I have a two bay shop behind my house that I store too many mk3 parts to mention and have done just about everything there possibly is to do on mk3s. Anyways if you need parts let me know because I am in the process of throwing away some good parts just because I have too many of them and they are taking up to much of my room.

No doubt. I had a conversation with him earlier, and I feel a lot better about my situation now. Definitely a super nice and knowledgeable guy...
