Does anybody know why the supra Y pipe has a little cover plate just where the two branches of the Y meet? I have seen some with and some without that little cover.

JDM's do not have the "clean out" cover. I don't know why it's there other than access to clean it out some from the PVC deposits.

EGR passage.
The Japanese don't use an EGR, so they don't run the passage.
If you put the JDM Y-pipe on a car with the EGR,
the EGR becomes a engine bay decoration,
and no longer puts exhaust into the manifold.
But it's still there to keep emission inspectors happy :)

I have oil everywhere... What u are seeing in the photo is the valve cover bolts on driver's side were loose and was leaking (i know...not good), I didn't notice this problem until I parked it for the winter and I just have not cleaned up the motor since.

Too damn busy fixing the dents/scratches/etc and sanding for my repaint, motor will get nice overall once bodywork complete.

Looks like much more of a project than mine with the molding removal and fill in. I've heard mixed emotions on the trim removal, I think it looks nice that way, but must be a killer to get perfect, eh...

Nice and clean :icon_bigg

I put a fair amount of time under the hood last week. It developed a nasty misfire Tuesday and I was thinking “nice…another BHG” but it turned out to be just a wasted cap and rotor. But since I had the time I went ahead and changed out plugs to NGK iridiums, NGK wires, and new cap/rotor. While I had the plugs out, I did a compression check and came up with about 160 across the board. Previous owner had timing set way off also, now it is at 10 btdc and runs like a champ!

Here's mine when I still had it a month ago. It's a JDM 7MGE, it wasn't anywhere as clean as I wanted it to be but I could never find time to clean it up properly.

These were taken the day that I painted the Y-Pipe.
