New guy with a question here. I have an 88 N/A that is completely stock that seems to be burning oil. I recently rebuilt the top end after my 2nd BHG and went to a metal headgasket and used a brand new head and ARP studs. Went on my first trip (Chicago) in the car since doing the work and it used 2/3 quart of oil in less than 300 miles but have never seen ANY smoke come from the car or any leaking oil in the engine bay or on the ground. The only things I can come up with are bad rings or possibly the EGR is stuck or something (I cleaned the EGR lines which were constricted to the size of vacuum lines in one place). I hope to pull the spark plugs this weekend and see if there is oil on all the plugs or just one. Otherwise the car runs great and got good mileage (about 28 mpg to Chicago). If there is anything else I am missing please give me a clue.
