I have a jz engine but this should apply to the 7m as well.
I just got my 1jz swap done a few thousand miles ago. When the car was first running, it was perfect... besides a misfire problem I fixed, but that's another story.
No smoke at all, either in full boost or decellerating.
Then I started to get some bluish white smoke on decelleration which pointed to either the valve stem seals or turbo seals going bad. I have a friend that had his 1jz swap done at the exacpt same time as me, and he also developed the same bluish white smoking.
Well, I took out the synthetic oil and now I'm running Valvoline max life high mileage dino oil. This oil has extra additives for conditioning seals and cleaning the engine.
Very slowly I'm noticing less white smoke with the new oil. The seal conditioner seems to be working.
My theory is that these engines just sit too long in japan, and the seals start to harden and the synthetics just don't help the situation, infact make it worse because these engines may have used dino oil all it's life.
Anyhow... just thought I'd put this out there, may help some poeple.
