Well I finally got my motor and tranny down in the bay. My problem is I have one mount flush against the frame plate. the other is about 1/2 -3/4 inch off. As If they are each about 1/4 to 3/8 to short each. Now I did get a second motor. I assumed it was an 88 as thats what I asked for. Is there any way to tell if it is or not? I also have gone to Solid motor mounts by BEECH Performance. I can get pictures if needed. What are the differences for Pre/Post 89? I have pictures of my motor in my build thread page 3.

89 is a funky year because they had 2 different mounts.......earlier versions had a rectangular mount on a steel bracket while the later models had a round mount on an aluminum bracket. Are you sure you have a proper right and left side bracket?

I have what was on the 2 motors. They are all steel. Now the holes are off set. Perhaps I have the offset wrong?

That was it. Apparently the offset hat to go up and down NOT front to back.
