Quick update...

We got a lot accomplished over the past two weeks or so. It was a battle trying to locate all of the nuts and bolts needed to reinstall everthing. I labeled and saved it all, but after moving a couple times, I just couldn't find everything.

Thing accomplished so far:

Lower plenum for the FFIM installed (waiting for upper to avoid nicks and scratches)
AFPR & assorted lines reinstalled
Knock sensors repaired and connected
LIPP Alternator Drop Down Bracket and Belt installed
Modified Bumper support (Thanks Chris! (Shaeff) installed
Intercooler installed
Turbo Oil Lines Installed
Full-Flow Oil Systems Installed (B&M Oil Cooler installed, Perma-Cool Dual Filter relocation kit & Trasko oil filter)

I'm still waiting on 4 AN fittings to complete the oil system. I need the two coming off the block and two for the dual-filter mount. Once those come in, that system will be complete. The B&M oil cooler is mounted right in between the Intercooler and the radiator (not installed yet). There is about 1/4" of clearance but it should get plenty of air. We made some very sturdy brackets so they are not going anywhere. The Intercooler was mounted on top of the frame rails, right behind the bumper support. We used C-channel metal stock and some steel L-brackets for the brackets.

Now I need to reinstall my PWR radiator, electric fans, weld up some IC pipes, figure out the downpipe situation for the turbo and do some electrical work.

Enjoy the pics...

Glad that bumper bracket worked out for ya, it looks good on there! Everything's coming together, makes me a bit giddy!

PS: I was out cruising in the M3 about two months back, and came across an '88 Turbo from Kingston. We had a little run, he was pushing around 10lbs of boost, and had two passengers. I pulled 4 cars on him and held it there until xxx speed. ;) It was pretty sweet. After pulling over and talking to him, it was a car from Kingston that used to belong to a member here, and guess what? Yep, I put the motor in that bitch! It had been sold twice since I worked on it. It was pretty funny, the dude who now owns it didn't believe me until I started pointing out all the shit I did to it. Haha. Makes me miss my car (as usual), however I'm glad that my slow ass in a straight line M3 could hold it's own against a boosted car.

Yeah man! Not much left to do. I will be needing your mad tyte JDM electronic skills here in the next few weeks. After that, it'll be time to get your car done!

That car from Kingston will NEVER leave you alone. It will haunt you until you either fix your car, or buy it! Good to see the M3 still running strong. I came very close to picking up a 2011 535 x-drive. Luckily I quickly came to my senses and decided against it.

Another update...

Finished up the custom bracket for my FAL 425 electic fans. I bought the unit used so it did not come with any mounting hardware. The bracket was made from brushed aluminum stock and 3/4" aluminun 'saucers'. The radiator is a PWR unit.

Overall, I think it came out great. Adds a nice touch to the engine bay.

We actually had to notch the bottom plate below the water neck. We got the hose on originally, but it was a tight fit so we decided to take it back off.

Fits like a glove now. I'll get an installed pic up later today.

Got the upper plenum of the FFIM installed last night. It's a Ron R. unit with an ISC provision, and Q45 throttle body (not pictured). Everything is polished, but it definitely needs to be cleaned up.

There is a welded AN fitting beneath the 'HKS' elbow which has got me stumped (right before the throttle body). I have no idea what it's for.

Any ideas?

All of the oil lines have been installed - this includes the oil filter relocation kit, oil cooler, and turbo lines. The exhaust manifold has also been installed, along with the turbo. The compressor housing has been rotated counter-cockwise to help will cooling and avoid any smoke (last two photos taken before it was adjusted).

We are in the process of completing the downpipe at the moment. It's a very tight fit, but it should work.

I'm just gonna take a wild guess. Vacuum for PCV during cruising and part throttle.

It's quite possible. At this point, I really have no use for it - especially since it sits right above the alternator.

Either way, it will probably get plugged.

Not sure? Most of these parts are probably two years old. If you mean recently, then it was probably someone else.

Definitely have to watch out when buying large items overseas. They usually get damaged one way, or another.
