Here are some more progress pictures of my well known engine. I just got the 1JZ coils and am working on making the mounting plate. Also as you can see in the one picture I got the 1JZ oil cooler from a Sorer fitted and all the cooling lines attached.:naughty:

looks really good!

i like how you mounted the AN fittings in the t'stat housing.

im a little confused on why you have an oil cooler attached off the housing tho. explain?

also, what did you use for the red? a lot of the red i see has a brown tone to it.

Well I had the valve covers powder coated candy apple red. The reason the oil cooler is attached to the housing is it is a 1JZ Sorer oil cooler. It uses the water from the cooling system to cool the oil. The coolant goes into a housing with fins that the oil moves through, therefor cooling it. The reason I did this is because it still cools the oil when the car is not moving. Here are more pics of it.

I've noticed that Toyota uses a similar oil cooler in many of their engines now. Not a bad idea. You don't over cool the oil, and it keeps plumbing the system simple too. Nice use of your existing lines and fittings. :)

Now I will have to get a set of those awesome looking cam sprockets... Are those the Titan ones?

BTW, I've enjoyed the candy apple red powdercoatings myself... :) LOL

Looks good man, The cam gears are custom made and are based off of the Fidanza Engineering design. I picked got them for 300 shipped. The think I like about them is they are 5 bolt.
