My question is will 92 moldings fit on an 87? The rear section im not worried about because i plan on changing it to the 92 style. Im most worried about whether or not the mounting points are the same for the later model moldings.

Yes you can switch over without problem so long as you intend to switch out the rear tail lights aswell.
