mk4 brakes on a mk3

how hard is this to do...and is it worth doing...or should i just replace the factory stuff

just replace it with factory stuff.

It can be done but it's NOT a bolt on job.

well what does it take to convert to those

The centre hole in the Mk4 disc is bigger for starters.

The Mk3 Hub needs to be turned down 5 mm to fit inside the Mk4 rotor.

I'm using AP Racing 4 piston Callipers on mine so I'm not sure on the front Mk4 callipers if they bolt up or not but the rears do.

You need to make a bracket to move the calliper up more because the rotor is biger
