I borrowed my friend's Mclaren alternator to mock up... ordering one of my own soon. Its a 1 wire, 140amp, small alternator... It is the tits.

Bracket in the works..

p1669308_2.jpg

p1669308_3.jpg

Seems like it fits...

Waiting on my flanges to come in still... but I am using stockers to mock up at least... Mig SS wire is not at all pretty.... luckily its getting tigged for the final steps.

p1669308_6.jpg

It just grazes the frame rail.... little notching and we are good to go... Its a tight fit to anything turbo related here.

p1669308_7.jpg

Also cut down the stock oil filter piece... going to run lines and relocate it so it will clear the alternator.

Thats all for now... got a bunch of stuff coming in the mail. :)

Made a fuse panel out of an old street sign lol... love these sheets of aluminum. Includes a BlueSea fuse panel, 10 relays and will have 2 circuit breakers.

And best of all... Had to buy more SCH10 piping... bought 20ft at a rediculous rate... fit 4x 5ft sections in the SC.

And worked on the driver side turbo manifold... enjoy :)

What do you have planned for engine internals?

Nothing for now, plenty of people are in high 400's without touching the engine... Going to use this 95 engine for now, when it/if goes swap in a 92-94 engine, and work on building the 95. But for now I dont forsee myself spending thousands to get a single fully built engine until I am out of school or I find a stack of a hundreds on the ground.... Just going to start on low boost, work out the kinks, and go up from there. Its all about the tune. Still up in the air about a new HG with some studs.

Interesting. Back when I had been looking at doing this swap, I had spent far too much time searching for a pre-95 longblock- Having never realized the 95+ with lightened rotating assembly was that stout...

Is the 1UZ susceptible to lifting the heads under boost?
