Metal Heater Core Hose Repair

The joint of metal pipe off the heater is leaking.
When I installed the heater core I used a new gasket and put a bit of sealant on the pipe. It must of got tweaked a tad at installation.

Can I remove the clip that holds the pipe together without removing the heater core? I should ask, will I be able to reconnect the pipe and connector without removing the heater core?

I was going to just reseal the joint with RV sealant.

There's an O-Ring between the pipes.

Don't know on LHD but RHD you need to pull the core to get the clips off/on.
(I also used a smear of RTV)

^ Yep. I used a smear of FIPG as well.
