MAP-ECU dowload current map on the piggy back to laptop??

My 1jz sc came with map-ecu 1. It currently has a "tune" at 15psi.

My question is can I download the current tune which is on the piggyback onto the laptop? I would like to touch up my tune a little since I have changed a few things.
If its possible, please let me know how I can do so.

Yes you can... when you connect the laptop to the mapecu it will bring up a prompt and ask you if you want to load the map FROM the ECU or TO the ECU just click the button thats appropriate and it will read from the mapecu. Then you can save that file and store it so you can come back to it later if your changes dont work out.

My next question, if you don't mind answering. I remembering being told that when you subtract a certain amount of fuel from an safc, it also adds timing, I was wondering if there was any truth to this, and whether or not this applied to the map-ecu.
