My dad owns a shop so I have some info on this feild.

Working for the dealers are probably going to be the most profitable and reliable and if you can get a management job you can make a lot of money but you will be responsible for everyone. If your looking for a quick temporary job I'd look into this but I've heard long term it gets stressful, and there's also no guarantee you can get a management job. Your college experience will give you a lot of credibility when getting the job.

Working for an independent shop/station is very unorganized and not guaranteed, pay will vary from shop as well as how you are paid whether it be hourly or by the job.

Another option is a performance based shop. These can bring good pay if the shop reputable and is known for good work and lots of business. But this job could take a while to move up in paywise and job rank wise because they will most likely have to teach you about their work.

Hope I could provide some help good luck.
