Loc-Tite or moly on flex plate bolts?

I have managed to abuse my flex-plate enough to have it lossen up.
I guess 30 plus passes at the strip, 8500 rpm shift point,
and shimmed accumulator springs was a bit too much for the stock bolts.

I now have a new ATI flex plate, and ARP crank bolts.

ARP says to use moly on the threads, and torque to 58 ft/lbs.
Or if using 30wt oil, torque to 85 ft/lbs.

I would feel a lot better using loc-tite.
And I guess, use the 85 ft/lbs torque figure ?

Anyway, what are others doing on their crank/flexplate bolts?

And before I here it, Yes, the ARPs will work with my ATI flexplate.
It is much thicker than the stock, and I have bottom tapped the crank holes.

I used loctite, I guess I'd be more worried about lots of other stuff with 8500 shift point.
just curious, how are you managing that for 30 passes?

Good rods, pistons, etc.
Not had any other issues.
Has been flogged on a daily basis also.

By the way, it's a GE, not a GTE.

What kind of tranny? I wasn't aware that ATI made a flex plate for the 340E.

Yes, A340E.
Well, they make one for the 7M,
but with a GM converter bolt pattern (228mm).
I had a machine shop put in the Toyota converter holes (232mm).
Since the ATI has no lightening holes, there was pleanty of room for the other set of holes.

It took Level-10 2 weeks to do the converter for it,
but at least they can now.
I had called them a few years ago, and they only could do the A341E converters.

Well,
Here it is less than a month from when I installed the ARP crank bolts,
And I just broke them all.................
All 6 heads broke off, at the same point,
and with the same break pattern.

The pattern does not match anything on ARP's web site,
so tomorrow morning, I will call them.

Damn, did not even get this set-up to the track !
Level-10 screwed the pooch on the stall speed,
instead of 4000, it came in at 3000,
the same rpm as I had before with a modified stock converter.

They told me they would fire another out to me,
and for me to return this one after I change them out.
That was 3 weeks ago......
Called them last Thursday, and they changed their tune.
(why doesn't this suprise me?)
Now they want this one back to re-stall it.

Anyway, the car was just driven on the street,
with a little thrashing now & then.
No problems, until Saturday on a burger run,
it started rattling real bad.
Parked the car, and pulled ther tranny today.
The only thing driving the flex plate are the 6 stubs sticking out of the crank.

Oh, am I going to have fun removing them !

OK,
Just got off the phone with ARP...........

They say that LocTite is slipperier than motor oil,
and to NOT use the 85 ft/lb torque figure that is called out for oiled threads.
(nice of them to put this on the instructions)

When using LocTite on the 203-2802 crank bolts,
only torque to 65 ft/lbs.
