when running the MAFT Pro in speed density is it possible to swap out the throttle body for a larger one to effectivlly increase air intake and HP....

is this a fesable idea? has it been done before?

of course it's been done before. You don't think that people are making 600rwhp on the stock TB, do you!?

If you find a turbo-a throttle body on ebay, scoop it up. It's got a larger bore... by how much, I do not recall. I know that if you search around www.mkiiitech.com you'll find info on it, as well as most anything else you'd like to know.

Sure, but we can get into a whole other discussion there. As far as bolt-on plug and play, the Turbo-A throttle body at 5mm larger(thx aye mate) is basically it.

When I buy a TB, I'm going to buy a mustang flanged tb. Various companies make any and every size you'll ever need.

i could have sworn that the stock TB was 58mm, not 60mm. my tb is a true 65mm throttle plate from a 4.6L mod mustang motor. the inlet is bored to 72mm.

Probably inner and outer diameter.

so then the plate is the 60mm part?? good....i measured my opening last night and it is about 65-66mm.......and i was like...hmmm i guess the turboA is 70mm[remembered it being 5mm larger]

i am toying with the idea of a ffim, but if i don't go with it what is the largest or more common largER size that pepl go with. will neely makeing 730.5 hp on a simf!!! so i may not be super inclined to ditch mine, it would make my intake piping easier. anyone know what TB he is running???

yup.

and yes, the stock TB is 60mm (i.e. the throttle plate). turbo A TB is 65mm. the problem w/boring the stock TB is that it gets SUPER thin.....the turbo A TB is an entirely larger casting. see mkiiitech.com....

perhaps i should add some actual info- the only TBs that will bolt onto the stock flange are the stocker (duh!) and the turbo A. there are a few companies that bore out the stocker, but IMNSHO it's hardly worth it as the opening gets rather thin....
