quite honestly the profec is my least favorite of the common boost controllers available. I've been impressed with all of the HKS EVC line I've seen or used and the AVC-R has a ton of features. The Greddy ones usually have very noisy solenoids...

yup, my greddy probec b spec 2 solenoid is pretty darn loud when its operating (loud clicking noise). I havent used any other brands but I would think that they would all sound similar?

They do all click but my HKS one is so quiet i can't hear it from inside the car, which is nice :)

Are you running the EVC?

Can anyone running the Apexi AVC-R comment on the solenoid loudness?

I mounted mine on rubber RX7 Radiator mounts and it dampens it nicely.

The other thing with clacky solenoids is they're only active on boost and there's usually so much background noise going on you can hear them unless they're mounted on the firewall near the driver.
(used to have mine beside the brake booster)
