Laggy auto transmission

The throttle cable seemed to have a minor, but noticable, impact. I haven't noticed it sticking at all, how would I tell?

Is my best bet to take the tranny out, take it into a transmission shop, and get them to pull it apart and have a look?

Could be a clogged oil strainer.

a guy on the uk forum put dexron iii in and his box slipped like buggery. he changed it back to the advised dexron ii and it was fine

Something I have heard from shop owners lately is Do NOT have your transmission flushed. It seems this procedure is great for repair shops as it often blows seals inside the tranny and flushes bad things to where they would normally never get. I use the old B&M tranny filter mount and a Wix Filter to keep the fluid clean, free from debris, and smelling good.
