well here it is. i have a knocking noise coming from my turbo supra. i have not drove the supra with low oil and dont know if the previous guy did or not (highly doubt it). i have rev it high a few times and read that if a engine is rev'd high it could bend a valve. also heard a bent valve can make a knocking noise too. but if worst comes to worst which is cheaper to fix a rod knock or a bent valve? and what test can i do to figure out which one i have with out taking the engine out and apart? im trying to sell the supra but need to figure out which one i have rod knock or bent valve. can a compression test tell me if i have a bent valve? if i drain the oil is there any way of tellling if i have rod knock (like peaces of shards in the oil)? i have not drained the oil yet but will do later. and lastly if i ran the engine just for a bit to get a video of the knocking will it hurt it any more?
