Ive searched but didnt find what i was looking for. Is the knock sensor from the 87-88 interchangeable with the 89-92 7mgte turbo? Got code 52, did the rewired for the knock sensor but the code is still there. Already tried a different ecu but code is still there. I got two knock sensors off an 88 turbo with the green plug but not sure if its the same thing as a 89-92 gray plug. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the are interchangeable. I have a set of 1990 gray 7mgte knock sensors plugged into my 1987 green clipped engine harness which were originally green knock sensors also.
When you did the rewire, did you ground the shielding?

Something to check as well... make sure the sensors are tight into the block. I rewired a long time ago and then 52 came back... after rechecking all the wiring and trying to remove the rear knock clip, I discovered it was loose. Tightened it up and code went away and hasnt come back...
