The words disturbing, painful and fu** come to mind (especially since that's my money spewed all over the engine bay ... but "annoying" ... whaddya think??

Don't sweat it - I've poked around your build thread a little & you're not going to make the same mistake(s?) I did. Basically, I slapped a cometic head gasket in (for 'insurance' my dumb ass was thinking) without any real prep work on the block or head before putting it back together. If it ain't broke, don't fix it comes to mind ... but it's a little late for that now!
Exactly - I blew that cometic headgasket right out! I'll report back when the actual cause is pinpointed ... right now it's not even cracked back open, because I'm trying to figure out exactly where to go from here!
