Infamous Code 51

Hey all,

I read the threads concerning code 51 (thanks jetjock for the nice write-up). My car's RPMs stay high even at operating temperature. My S-AFC Neo also has throttle hovering between 1.0% and 1.2% instead of 0% with the throttle closed.

I am going to try to adjust the TPS using my car's TSRM or replace it with another one.

If that does not work is there anything else I could try? I do have another throttle body I could use.

I adjusted the TPS and it now reads 0% as it should with the idle closed. The only thing is there is a dead spot in the throttle where the idle fluctuates. I am still getting code 51. I am going to try another throttle body and a brand new TPS. This is annoying.

Hi there,

I had the same problem......I bought a tb with and tps sensor which havnt been removed or adjusted and that fixed it right up

Get a multimeter with a continuity beep. This will tell you when the IDL contact is closed.
