I went to the indy meet last year.. err maybe it was the 06 meet im thinking of.. Of course Jon had to call me and beat me up over the phone and get my ass up there. I didn't really feel like going so my excuse was 'i was cutting the grass..' lol. remember that Jon?! haha. I'm glad i went though.. lots of fun!

i am fairly open. i know some work every other weekend, so might get some input from them to make some suggestions. then perhaps make a poll to see what seems to be the best fit.

As between now and meet time, a lot could happen.

I'll go ahead and start one just to make you happy though.

As for a meet place:
It worked out well last Indy meet when we met up and ate some grub at Hooters on US31. There was plenty of room on the front row to park the Supras for nice photo shots, plus we got the outside deck to ourselves. Besides, Hooters can never go wrong. :naughty:

Deciding on a good location/good place to eat won't be a problem...
I'm thinking more along the lines of focusing on finding a nice scenic drive to take.

Suggestions?

if it wasnt so damned far away from US31... indiana 42 west is a nice curvey scenic drive.. take that drive every time i go to bloomington or columbus. Hooters is a great place to meet up for dinner.. been to 3 meets at hooters so far.. LOTS of parking room

A basic (and unconfirmed) layout of what the day could consist of:

12PM - Meet at Hooters for lunch and BS'ing.
3PM - "Cruise" to __________ for scenic driving, photos and video's. :icon_razz
5PM - Finish Cruise, ending at a Dyno shop, wrapping up the day there.
9PM - Anyone else that wants to make the trip worth while, cruise Indy (aka Soufside :biglaugh: ) and make everyone Ooh & Ahh at all of the Supras in the evening hours on the "strip".

Leaving it at this alone would make for a great mini-meet...

Things like Drags, In-Door Karting & anything of the such would be GREAT...
But we can only squeeze so much into one day.
Unless you guys are okay with starting the day at 6AM. :icon_conf

Same here, if we can other fun activities that would make for an ultimate Supra meet. Like the indoor karting would be great. I'm just fine with the cruise and meet-up, because I start driving in a 31 days :evil2:

As far as I can tell, it appears as if something like May 10th shouldn't be an issue?

I say that the quicker we can settle on a confirmed date, the quicker we can we people doing work request-offs and planning their future schedule around this date.

Anyone against May 10, 2008, or June 14, 2008?

Let me know! That way I/we can start penciling in dates and times for dyno/dinner reservations, etc.

Also...I want to try to keep meets spread apart somewhat equally. For example:

Oct 07 - Louisville Meet *Already happened, duh*

May 08 - Indy Supra Meet

June 08 - Ohio Supras Gathering
(It's going to be tough because Ohio meet is close to the time we're trying to schedule this)...It's usually deadset beginning of June. Then again, this time of year is PERFECT, not too hot, not cold, sunny, light breeze, etc.

August 08 - Chi2k8!!!!

what i would do is take a couple possible dates, then call the dyno to see if they are available both those days. usually they dont plan anything that far in advance, but i've had it happen before.

atleast that way we know if a date we pick is 100% available.
